Designing Your Own Squidoo
Web Page 1
Squidoo.com is a surprisingly powerful social networking
site which anyone can join for free. Many affiliate marketers
have found that they can create an income using Squidoo
which means that you are "only" spending your
time - not your money. That is a rather appealing formula
for many who are just starting on their adventure to make
money using the internet.
This series of "SUCCESS WITH SQUIDOO"
articles will cover what you need to know to make money
with Squidoo. Ready?
In this first article we look at selecting a subject
for your first Squidoo web page.
1. HOW TO FIND A SUBJECT FOR YOUR
SQUIDOO LENS?
Incidentally at Squidoo.com web pages are called lenses.
The singular is lens. And the webmasters (people who have
lenses at Squidoo) are called lensmasters. And they have
lensrank instead of PageRank, which is a Google concept.
Now that we've defined a few of the important terms here,
let's start on finding a topic for your lens.
If you don't have a hobby or interest in mind, or a cause
you are keen about or a product you want to promote, then
you can always visit Wikipedia.org
for a ton of ideas.
Wikipedia has nearly 2 million articles covering an immense
range of topics. Their main subject categories are:
Reference
Art and culture
Geography and places
Health and fitness
History and events
Mathematics and abstractions
Natural sciences and nature
People and self
Philosophy and thinking
Religion and belief systems
Social sciences and society
Technology and applied sciences
By selecting a category you're interested in and then
drilling down (that is, clicking on topics of interest),
you will probably find a topic for your Squidoo lens.
You will also find a lot of good information you can use
for lens content.
AN EXAMPLE OF THIS
Let's say you are interested in Health and fitness. One
of the sub-categories there is Positive mental health,
and in that list you find Positive psychology. That's
just a quick example of how to find a topic by drilling
down.
Important tip: Don't just copy and paste what you read
at Wikipedia -- or anywhere else for that matter. But
you can use it as source material to write your own unique
original articles.
